TPC doesn’t just sell bikes. We buy bikes too! All so we can fix them up, and give them a second life. TPC buys bikes for cash OR you can choose store credit to use on your next purchase. Our goal is to make it easy for riders to extract value from their old bikes and make room for their next bike.

Just visit our Sell // Trade portal, submit a few photos of your bike, verify your identity, and you’ll get an offer for your bike within 48 hours. Accept that offer, and you’ll get a free shipping label to ship us your bike or you can drop your bike off at our Louisville/Denver retail store

Sell your bike to TPCTPC can’t buy every bike out there (though we’d love to). We mainly focus on buying high-quality bikes that we can put through our Certified Pre-Owned process. In some cases, this means we have to decline to buy some bikes or we might be unable to provide an offer that is competitive with what you would receive by selling your bike privately.

If you’re interested in selling your bike to TPC and you want to get the best offer possible, bikes that fit the parameters below are at the top of our wish list…

  • Road Bikes made in the last 8 years
  • Gravel & Cyclocross Bikes made in the last 7 years
  • Mountain Bikes made in the last 6 years
  • Time Trial (TT) & Triathlon Bikes made in the last 7 years
  • E-Bikes made in the last 6 years

The older a bike is, the higher the original MSRP of the bike will need to be in order to get a good offer competitive with offers you’d receive from private buyers.

For example, if you want to sell a road bike made in 2015, it will probably only be worth it to submit to TPC if it had an original MSRP of $4,500 or more when it was new in 2015. As a general rule, any bike that had an original MSRP of $4,000 or more when new has a better chance of getting a solid offer from our buying team.

Of course, we’re interested in older and less expensive bikes too, but they generally have to be something truly unique or very desirable. Once you factor in depreciation, market demand, and sourcing parts, plus the effort of packing your bike and shipping it, our offer might not be what you’re looking for. In that case, you might have better luck with a stoked private buyer who can pay you more.

Sell Your Frames and Wheels Too

Sell your bike frame to TPCTPC also buys frames and wheelsets. For frames, we follow the same model-year guidelines as bikes. If your frame has any special parts, like aero seat posts, integrated cockpits, or batteries, they’ll need to be included.

Sell your bike wheels to TPCIf you’re selling wheels here’s what we’re interested in buying…

  • 700c road or gravel wheels
    • Quick release OR thru-axle
    • Tubeless OR Clincher
  • 650b gravel wheels
    • Thru-axle and tubeless
  • 29” MTB wheels
    • Boost OR Super Boost
    • Tubeless

For mountain bike wheels, non-boost and 27.5” wheels are becoming a tougher sell as Boost 29” wheels are becoming the most common size. Likewise, tubular wheels aren’t very appealing for many of our customers. We have to keep that in mind when making offers on wheels and wheelsets.

How TPC Decides What To Buy

Sell you bike to TPCWhile we’d love to keep every bike in the world rolling, we have to be conscious of what our customers generally want in their next bike and what the industry supports, so we have to make sure our inventory matches those needs.

We have a team dedicated to tracking sale prices, sell-through rate, and hundreds of other stats to determine what we can buy and for how much. Seasonality, customer demand, and our own inventory affect whether we can make an offer for a bike and how much we can offer.

It also takes time and money to repair, stock, and ship these bikes. If you want to learn more about the process each bike goes through, check out our “Through The Line” video.

If you have a high-quality bike you want to try selling to TPC, just visit our Sell // Trade portal. Submitting a bike to get an offer only takes a few minutes, and if you receive an offer there’s no obligation to accept. We hope we can make selling your bike quick and painless, so you can fret less, and ride more!
